Josh Garcell

My work is concerned with the intersection between objects and emotional history. I deal with these relationships through the use of found objects organized and utilized in a strictly controlled process.



What was empty space becomes an assemblage of memories, thoughts and emotions building upon each other. Recycled elements and paint become fused in the moment, the viewer free to reflect for meaning and purpose within.

 

I see my work as the fruit of my meditation. When i work, i allow the process to take over. I am the creator of the process.. but through letting go, i become part of the process. Artwork is a verb, Creativity lives in the creating.
